I definitely enjoyed watching how Walt Disney created his animations. Starting with Mickey I was very impressed with the background being a still scene while Mickey was the moving object creating depth. Because he would move behind objects like rocks and trees it made the scene seem 3D yet as we saw, it wasn't. I think that the way Mickey was made was incredibly smart for the time. I had ideas about animation prior to this class and knew of the still images being multiplied in different positions just as we saw with mickey. I would watch Finding Nemo or other pixar movies and then see how they made the movie. This was always a huge interest of mine and its amazing to see how the older movies were made.
The invention of the three plates to show even more depth was also very interesting. I'm looking forward to looking at these movies now and trying to think of how they did it based on what Disney showed. I never thought of the moon not being realistic because of it moving with your eye due to the camera zooming in but just that slight detail can change the realistic view of the animation.
